[NOVEMBER 2013] AQC participates in the VIII Congress
Alarcos Quality Center participates in the VIII Congreso Nacional y Exposición: VISION13, organized by itSMF, that took place on November 11 and 12 in Madrid under the motto "Impulsando los nuevos modelos de negocio" ("Promoting the new business models").
VISION13 had a program of talks oriented to CxOs, IT Managers and professionals, with a wide and structured range of subjects, such as Cloud Computing, IT Management and Governance, the IT professional of the future, security and audit, current trends (Mobility, M2M, Big Data, Smarter Planet...), and standards and frameworks (ITIL® 2011, ISO20000, COBIT 5, ISO27000, PMI®, CMMI-SVC®...).
The talk of Alarcos Quality Center, together with AENOR, dealt with the service for evaluation and certification of software product quality, based on ISO/IEC 25000, provided by the Laboratory AQC Lab and AENOR.

In the context of the awards ceremony of the Gran Fiesta Dintel 2013, presided by Mrs Ana Pastor, Minister for Public Works of the Government of Spain, held in Madrid on 7 February 2013, Alarcos Quality Center (AQC) has been awarded the premium for the best initiviative for entrepreneurship and technological development of start-ups originate in the field of university.
Sr Mario Piattini, AQC Scientific Director and full Profesor of University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) and Sr. Moisés Rodríguez Monje, AQC Managing Partner received the award from Excellency Mr Antonio Román Jasanada, the presiding Mayor of the city of Guadalajara.
[DECEMBER 2012] AQC Lab, first laboratory in Spain accredited under ISO/IEC 17025 to perform software quality evaluation tests
Alarcos Quality Center, a company specialized in software quality evaluation, founded in 2011 the testing laboratory AQC Lab, which has recently become the first laboratory in Spain to be accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 to perform Software Quality Evaluation Tests. Accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025 confirms the technical competency of the laboratory and guarantees the reliability of the test results provided. To that end, the accreditation body ENAC performs a thorough evaluation of all the factors contributing to the reliability of the laboratory test results: qualification and experience of the staff, suitable equipment and infrastructure, suitable and validated work methods and procedures, etc.
AQC Lab performs quality evaluations based on the family of standards ISO/IEC 25000. Thus, the evaluation process followed is based on ISO/IEC 25040, whereas the quality model that determines the software product quality characteristics and subcharacteristics is based on ISO/IEC 25010.
Now, ICT companies can resort to AQC Lab for an independent software quality evaluation service that provides them with knowledge about the quality of the product they are developing and/or acquiring, and use it as a distinctive quality feature over the competition.

The scientific director of Alarcos Quality Center, Mario Piattini Velthuis, who was recently awarded the National Award for Outstanding Professional Career in Software Engineering by the Asociación de Ingenieros en Informática (AI2), has talked to Tribuna de Ciudad Real and Crisol de Ciudad Real about the current situation in software research and industry.
[OCTOBER 2012] The scientific director of AQC, Mario Piattini Velthuis, is awarded the Fifth National Award for Outstanding Professional Career in Software Engineering
This award recognizes the extraordinary and fruitful professional and academic career, as Dr. Piattini is cited among the top fifteen world researchers in the field of software and systems engineering, as published by the Journal of Systems and Software nº84, 2011.

EASE 2012, the 16th International Conference on Evaluation & Assessment in Software Engineering will take place in Ciudad Real (Spain), at Escuela Superior de Informática, Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha. The theme of EASE 2012 will be “Empirical Grand Challenges for Agile Development”; however, papers on any aspect of product and process evaluation and assessment will be presented.
